Today in math, Mr. Max went around the room looking at everyones homework, then he collected our mental math sheets, and after that we all worked on our accelerated math. Later, he showed us more about Domain & Range.

FUNCTIONS AND RELATIONS

Today january 7 in math Mr.Max showed us what a Relation and a function is. All functions are relations and a relationis a set of orderd pairs or or anything that can be graphed on a 2-d graph.

December 19th

Today wasn't a very eventful day in math. We started off with our usual mental math and then went on to working up to our 48 objectives, which are due by the end of FRIDAY. Mr. Max also went around and finished checking our 2D/3D projects spreadsheets. That was about it for today, Merry Christmas!!

Today in math class we had a sub. We worked on our excel spreadsheets and we worked towards our goal of 48 objectives in accelerated math.

Math Class: Monday, December 17th

Today we began with Mental Math (#41), as usual. After completing Mental Math, we were then reminded by Mr. Maksymchuk two things:

1. Today is the last day to get your 2D/3D Projects Spreadsheet checked and marked by Mr. Maksymchuk.
2. There are 48 objectives due before the Christmas break (Friday, December 21st). Also, Mr. Maksymchuk will be marking us out of 37 objectives the Thursday just before the 48 objectives will be marked.

The rest of the class was given to work on Accelerated Math, or finish up your Spreadsheet.

Thursday, december 13th

On thursday we had mental math, then worked on accelerated math all class for our goal of 48 objectives.

Today we had Mr. Buckner as a substitute because, for some unknown reason, Mr. Maksymchuk was not here. So we worked mainly on our Accelerated Math and were able to scan things this time. Also, the Excel Formula Spreadsheets are due on Monday if you didn't get them checked on Thursday. Have a good weekend!

Today in Class...

Today in class Mr.Max started off the class as usual with mental math. Then he gave us 5 minutes to prove a sloving probem that he gave us all last night for homework. Then for the rest of the class we did are accelerated math hoping to get 48 objectives before the christmas holiday break.

Here are the notes we took in math yesterday for the people who didn't write them down while Mr.Maksynchuck was teaching at the front of the class. This stuff is very confusing and hard to do.

Tday is nov. 15! Mr. Max started off the class with mental math then well....... I couldn't really tell u guys cause tday is Dec. 7 so sorry guys but i really don't no what we did!! :) just be happy.. that i did something :)!!

Today in class we started out with mental math number 34. Then Mr.Max told us to do our test corrections from our test on coordinate geometry. We were supposed to hand them in at the end of class. If we did a good job on the corrections he said he would give us an extra 5%! Our 37 accelerated math objectives were due yesturday. Well I think that just about covers it. Have a good night.

Today in class Mr.Max taught and discussed the Law Of Cosines with us untill shortly after three O' clock. He then gave us the rest of class to work on Accelerated math. During the lecture he quoted, "Never use the law of cosines in the same problem more than once!!!!"

Today on wednesday the 28th of november it was a working class and therefore doesn't give me much to type about, but i can still say these random words:library, fish, bucket, and dynamite

November 27th

Today all we did was program our exel spreadsheets to do trigonometry.

Today was interesting. we learned the "Law of Sines".

It was definetly confusing in some parts so hang on!

This here PARAGRAGH, is the definition for the "Law of Sines".

This is a question that Mr. Maksymchuck came up with.we started with picking an "unknown" to solve for, which you can see on the image.

The second step was the "set up of the ratios" Mr. Max told us a pretty.... reasuring way to do this

He then showed us how to use one whole equation on how to figure out how to figure out that "unknown".

On this image, Fuddy showed us a way on how to figure out the whole thing with something he(and a bunch of the other kids) learned last year called the "fish"

The answer we got was right, but Mr. Max told us that this won't work every time, and you can't show your work by doing this.

November 22, 2007

Today Mr. Maksymchuk gave us some notes on how to solve trigonometry word problems. He drew us some ugly pictures (his words, not mine), to show us what to do. Here are some of the pictures.

This picture shows a stick-man and the angle of elevation (or inclination), and the angle of depression (or declination). Do not get the two mixed up.

Today we we going to start with mental math. But Mr.Max did not have any sheets for it. So then he told us that we could have a work period. Then we worked.

November 20th

Today we were going to start off with Mental Math, but we don't have our new sheets so we started off with a lesson. With these notes, we saw how it would work putting it on excel, in the pythagorean theorum section.

Nov. 15 scribe

Today we worked on Accilerated Math the whole period. He let us have the whole period to work because on friday we don't have a math class..(fresh i.e concert instead).

Today, November 13th, we started off with mental math. When we were done, Mr. Maksymchuk taught us Pythagorean Triples. The notes are on things we have to memorize. After that we worked on accelerated math for the rest of the class.
